Bosch GBH 2-28 DFV 110V
N.B. This is the same drill as the GBH 2-28 DV except it includes an integrated quick-change chuck for standard drill bits
The successor to Bosch’s popular GBH 2-26DFR, this next generation hammer drill uses the latest engineering to deliver more performance from a lightweight body. It’s a real step forward with huge drilling power plus excellent chiselling and core drilling capacity. It offers enhanced vibration control too – 30% less than similar SDS drills to help you work harder for longer.

The Bosch GBH 2-28DFR in-depth profile
Drilling power
Once again Bosch have upped their game in every area of this drill’s performance. The 850 watt motor is more powerful than the older 2kg models and delivers fast, hard hitting drilling (0-4,000bpm and 0-900rpm). The impact energy is a mighty 3.2 joules which takes it way beyond traditional SDS Plus levels. The result is that you can comfortably bore 28mm holes into masonry and concrete, 13mm holes into steel and 30mm holes into wood. Attach a core cutter and you can create 68mm holes in masonry – ideal for laying cabling or large pipes.
Weight
With more power comes a little more weight – the GBH 2-28 DFV weights 3.1kg. This is offset by improvements in vibration control thanks to the introduction of active vibration damping: a counter balancer situated in the gear housing counteracts the air and mass forces from the hammer mechanism, reducing vibration levels from 15 m/s2 to 11 m/s2.
Chuck type
The GBH 2-28 DFV has an SDS Plus chuck and an integrated quick change chuck for your non-SDS drillbits.
Number of drilling modes
This is a very versatile 3-mode SDS drill. As well as rotary and hammer drilling you have the option of hammer only for chiselling. As a result it is just as easy to cut slots and channels for cabling or ducting as it is to drill rows of holes.
Other stand out features:
Continuously variable speed control to enable you to make clean drilling starts
Rotating brush plate for equal power in forward and reverse rotation
Overload clutch to protect you and the drill
Ball grommet to stop the cable from wearing and breaking
Forward and reverse mode for freeing jammed drill bits.
