Bosch 36 volt SDS hammer drill range: our guide
There’s the 36 VL-I, 36 VF-LI and 36 V-LICP…confused? Don’t worry… here’s a quick to Bosch’s highly desirable 36V cordless SDS drill range
Not content with launching just one premium 36 volt SDS drill, Bosch have released three in a relatively short space of time. Clearly they’re looking for a big chunk of the cordless SDS drill market, and their 36 volt drills have all the credentials to deliver on that ambition.
They’re all a part of the growing family of 36 volt Bosch power tools ¬– all designed to work with the same Lithium-Ion battery and as powerful as corded.
Bosch GBH 36 V-LI . Bosch’s standard 36 Volt Lithium-Ion cordless SDS drill.
It ain’t cheap but this 36 volt Bosch SDS drill looks great, and packs a wallop at 3.0J – as much cordless power as any SDS drill on the market. It weighs 4.3kg with the battery so it’s heavier than Bosch’s 24 volt model, but for that extra weight you get bags of raw power, allowing you to drill up to 26mm in concrete. The batteries are also a strong feature with Electronic Cell Protection to prolong their working life and protect the battery from overload, overheating and deep discharge.
Yep, it’s that simple. If you’d like to be able to quickly switch from the SDS chuck to a non-SDS function, you simply use the chuck adaptor provided.
Bosch GBH 36 V-LICP. The most compact 36V cordless SDS on the market. Simply Awesome.
Also referred to as the GBH 36 V-LI Compact, this 3 mode Lithium-Ion based drill is deceptively powerful. The power to weight ratio set a new standard, and the 2.9kg design makes this perfectly suited to agile drilling in tight spaces and overhead usage. The standard package comes with two impressively fast Bosch Lio-Ion Compact batteries that can drill 100 holes (6 x 40mm) into hard concrete on one charge. With Electronic Cell Protection, they’ll last up to 4 times longer than earlier Lithium-Ion designs. The Bosch GBH 36 VLICP also offers a brushless EC motor for less maintenance and a low vibration level of 10m/s sq. Quite simply, it’s the shape of things to come.
